Groundwater Study Included in State Budget

Credit to the Loudoun County Preservation and Conservation Coalition

For years, farmers in Loudoun County have raised concerns about groundwater resources as residential construction continues to site new wells. Work done by Loudoun County Farm Bureau board members and the Loudoun County Preservation and Conservation Coalition reached a new milestone, as state delegate John McAuliff introduced an amendment to the state budget to study groundwater usage in Loudoun and Fauquier counties.

The proposal would have the Department of Environmental Quality study threats and challenges facing the groundwater supply and make recommendations on how to address them.

The LCPCC initial groundwater study proposal can be found here.
